Kim and Hope {Arlington Horse Portrait Photographer}

When Kim contacted me about doing a photo session with her and her horse, I was super excited.

And then as the session got closer I got really nervous!

I’ve dealt with cranky toddlers, fussy newborns, less than thrilled adults and even the occasional family dog  during photo sessions.

All of which, I’m pretty confident in my abilities to eventually get them comfortable in front of the camera.

But, Hope would be my first ever HORSE photo session.

I had no clue what to expect but was willing to give it a go and step outside the box a bit!

I arrived  bright and early at Silver Star Stables where Kim works and trains. It was a beautiful, crisp Spring morning.

While Kim was giving me the lay of land before we got started, she mentioned that she had tried to get photos done before

and it just didn’t quite meet her expectations. I immediately thought to myself – challenge accepted! 🙂

I was determined to give Kim a great session and get her some great shots of her and Hope together.

What I didn’t expect, was how much I would enjoy getting to photograph a horse with their owner. I loved it!

Horses are beautiful creatures and Kim is pretty much an expert on them. She’s been working with them since she was a young girl.

Throughout these images, you can truly see their special bond they share!

I had a complete blast photographing these two.

I can only hope that this won’t be last experience photographing this spectacular animal!

Kim – Thanks again for entrusting me to capture these moments for you!

Say “Cheese” Hope! Love that it looks like she’s smiling here!

Hope got a little hungry mid-shoot!
