Kylie Grace is 3!! {Lake Stevens Child Photographer}

I cannot even believe my little girl is 3!

How’d did that happen so fast? I know everybody tells you time flies, but until you live it –  you don’t realize just how FAST.

This year was my busiest year to date with my photography business…and while I am utterly grateful for that –

I won’t lie about the fact that it made for some tricky time management issues in my department with being a mom, a wife and a business owner!

When I was trying to come up with what to do for Kylie’s party…I came across a Winter Wonderland themed party.

That way I could use the decorations for her party AND keep them up for our Christmas decor.

BAM! Two birds. Multitasking Mama right here! 😉

‘Cuz, you can’t have a Winter Wonderland party without the hot cocoa, coffee and tea station!

My career is a photographer. However, during these types of personal events and parties;

I usually like to put down the camera to enjoy the moments and the company of guests and family and just be present.

I did want to get ONE photo of her at her party.

But, of course, trying to actually get Kylie to hold still and stop playing with her cousins for a photo of her during her party

wasn’t on her agenda is pretty much an unrealistic expectation for a 3 year old.

So, I did manage to snap a quickie photo of her munchin’ on a cookie and then put down the camera for the rest of the night!

The weekend after her birthday, I bundled her up and put her in the car and set out on a drive just the two of us.

I didn’t have high expectations for our session, since she’s at a difficult age to photograph and  being a photographer’s daughter –

it’s hit or miss if my kids will actually be into having their photo taken.

Since my baby was born in December, we are used to freezing during her birthday sessions. This morning was no exception!

The light and the fog proved to be a nice change of pace from my normal sessions.

It was actually a really fun experience (I’d like to think for both of us).

I just kind of let her do her thing and she brought Moose along for a few pics, too!

What a ham!

It’s hilarious, since I NEVER actually use the phrase  “Say Cheese!” while shooting,

but all kids seem to innately look at me and say it anyway!

“Mom, Watch This!”

She’s just directing her next move here.

Let them be little….they are only that way for a short time.

“If we could all see the world through the eyes of a child,

we would see magic in everything.”

Her eyebrows are so expressive!

My cup runneth over.

“She is clothed in strength and dignity,

and she laughs without fear of the future” ~ Proverbs 31:25

We can’t even begin to express just how much we love you.
We can only hope that you someday look back on your childhood and know that you were and forever will be surrounded by unconditional love.

You amaze us daily with your intelligence.

You make us melt with your kind-hearted soul and energetic spirit.

And, on those days when you are acting like a typical toddler – well, it’s a good thing you’re so darned cute. 😉

We have such big dreams for you and your future.

But, for now, those can wait…’cuz from what I hear and have learned so far – time really does fly by.

And, honestly…even on my hardest  parenting days, I really do wish I could freeze time.

Happiest of Birthdays to you, my favorite girl in the world!

We love you to the moon and back!

~ Dad & Mom
