Meet Jason and Abbie and their boys, Blake and Lukas.

Abbie and I have know each other for 10+ years now and she is one of the most genuine and kindest people you could ever have the pleasure of knowing.

It’s so fun to watch this family together, you can just feel the love they have for each other.

We met up last weekend and enjoyed some laughs and some gorgeous Fall color!

For those of you wondering…

Photographing children isn’t always easy-

especially when they are between the ages of 18months-3 years old.

They tend to have a mind of their own and getting family photos taken isn’t really a top priority for them most of the time.

Lukas is a little over 3 and well, he thought playing ninja with Blake was way more fun than sitting still for photos!!

I take pride in being patient with children during photo sessions and working with them at their pace and on their level.

Especially since getting the “shot” is something that cannot be forced.

While I was editing these photos, I literally laughed out loud when I came across this one:

I just loved Jason’s face and actually had to text this photo to them that night and let him know that I am pretty sure I have this look on a daily basis with my own kids!

As parents, we get super nervous going into a family photo session ~

crossing our fingers that our kids will behave and listen and pay attention.

Rest assured, not many of the little ones do – and that’s okay!!

I love it and am always up for the challenge –

Usually, with a little time, patience, trickery and possibly even me doing ridiculously silly dances in public – it all works out in the end!

And we get the money shots…the candid shots – those shots where families are being families and kids are being kids!

We ended our session with some Seahawks love!

Jason and Abbie are huge sports fans and we wanted to make sure to document their love for the game!
